July 17th Show with George Lynch
So we got ready and picked up all our shit for the show. The booking agent told us to make sure to bring our stuff in by 4pm, because George Lynch is sound checking at that time. I guess after he did his sound check, we would have to round up all our equipment to the stage. So we got there at 4pm and no George Lynch to be found. I asked the booking agent what's going on and he said that George was running late. I looked at the band and said "I guess this is what rock and roll is all about!" We all laughed and waited.
It was about 6:30pm and George finally showed up. They took about an hour set up and another 40 minutes to sound check. So guess what?! We had to be set up in 15 minutes because 9 was like 20 minutes away. We hustled and got everything up then started the show. I was nervous for the first time, because about 60% of the audience was heavy metalers that had Dokken and Iron Maiden shits on. I seriously thought these guys wouldn't take to kindly to our rock, since it's a little softer than the metal these guys may be accustomed to.
So we said fuck it and played. Most of the audience was far behind the lights, so it looked like we were playing in front of like 10 people. Finally after our 2nd song, Bobby decided to tell the crowd to come up front. They listened and I was able to finally rock!!! We rocked through song after song and I began to not give a fuck what these people thought of us. The cheers were getting louder and the crowd was getting rowdier. We finished and a bunch of people we didn't know asked for our autographs. We did and then the next band came on.
So I am a firm believer to stick around if I can for all the other bands. So I waited with ALEX, while the rest of the crew and the others that didn't want to stick around went to the magni-pad. I was so glad because the next two bands fucking ROCKED.... Auroa Beckons was this funk band with a chick singer. I have seen them before when their name was "off limits", but I guess they had to change their name. I can't remember what the other band was called but I know they rocked my ass off! They had that Alice in Chains vibe to them, which I really love, and it was pumping!!!!
Okay so I had to admit that I didn't stick around for George Lynch, because I had to host the p-arty.... We stayed up until 5am.
