Music has been a passion of mine all of my life. Since the day I was born my father had me listening to The Beatles and to the oldies radio stations. 60s Rock n Roll and also Motown is something I’ve always been a fan of. The heart and soul that is put into it is something that I never had to grow to love.
I picked up the guitar when I was thirteen years old by influence of Oasis. As I listened more and more to Oasis I grew to love other Britpop bands such as The Verve, Blur, Radiohead and etc. As I grew older I longed for music with something more U2 then became the band of my life, a band whose music is also a cause. This is something I respect and also pursue. As I got better at playing the guitar I would play and sing at open mic nights and eventually play with numerous bands. As I continued to work at playing guitar I had reached a wall where I couldn’t teach myself anymore. So I then decided to attend a music trade school, Los Angeles Music Academy. While I studied there my knowledge of music theory grew, including my musical taste giving me a love for Jazz and Funk. Half way through my year of studying at L.A.M.A., I was then invited to join a band called Magnifier. As I listened to an old demo tape, I realized how magical this band could be.
Heart and Soul is something that is important to me in every area of life. With music I don’t want just a great song or a great album that is a hit; I want something that will touch lives and encourage people throughout life. With this band I know we can pursue our goals and dreams and to also grow as musicians and people. This band to me has heart and soul.
